About the team and role:

The Tax Data Solutions team provides key business insights and impactful analyses for eBay’s Tax function. The team tackles strategic and operational challenges through process automation, business impact measurement, and data science solutions.

This role involves intensive data analysis. Ideal candidates are curious, have a strong analytical mindset, and are driven to deliver business results using advanced analytics and data visualization.

Key responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with business units to identify impactful analytics opportunities and improve operational efficiency and cost reduction.
• Implement monitoring frameworks for business initiatives, ensuring timely alerts for any issues.
• Support data analysis and requests related to tax audits.
• Develop advanced data visualizations and analytics to drive insights.
• Monitor post-launch performance of features and programs, reporting findings to product and business teams.
• Promote a culture of self-serve analytics by educating stakeholders on key reports, data interpretation, and best practices.
• Work closely with teams such as Customer Service, Legal, and Finance to maintain visibility across functions.

What you bring:

• Strong curiosity, problem-solving skills, and comfort with ambiguity.
• Excellent technical abilities in data analysis and process development, particularly with SQL.
• Proficiency in data visualization tools like Tableau and self-service analytics.
• Skills in Python and Alteryx are a plus.
• Proven experience in end-to-end analytics, from problem definition to analysis, synthesis, and influencing decisions.
• Experience with big data tools (Hadoop, Teradata) and agile methodologies.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Capability to work independently as part of a global tax team.
• Experience in advanced analytics and programming in SQL and Python is advantageous.
