Position Overview: Data Scientist II

The AI team develops and deploys cutting-edge AI solutions across Mastercard’s divisions to maintain a competitive edge. Our goals include enhancing operational efficiency, improving customer experiences, and strengthening our core products (Credit, Debit, Prepaid) and services (e.g., fraud detection, anti-money laundering, recommendation engines).

Responsibilities:

• Gather key insights to clearly define business problems.
• Use creative thinking to apply AI methodologies to business challenges.
• Develop AI and machine learning applications utilizing the latest industry and academic advancements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally and globally with colleagues to implement the AI strategy.

Qualifications:

• Passion for AI, demonstrated by participation in AI challenges like Kaggle.
• Previous experience or knowledge of:
  • Deep learning algorithms, open-source tools, statistical techniques, and programming environments (Python, R, SQL).
  • Big Data platforms like Hadoop, Hive, Spark, and GPU clusters for deep learning.
  • Classical machine learning algorithms such as Logistic Regression, Decision Trees, Clustering, and Bayesian models.
  • Deep learning techniques such as Random Forest, Gradient Boosting, KNN, SVM, and text mining.
  • Optimization methods, neural network cost functions, and advanced applications in NLP, speech, and image processing.
  • Deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, and XGBoost.
• Focus on Computer Science or related field.
